Mathilda Lang

WISHEK - Mathilda Lang, 98, Wishek, died Dec. 8, 2007, at Wishek Home for the Aged. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 12, at United Church of Christ, Wishek. Burial will be in Wishek City Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. today at Dahlstrom Funeral Home, Wishek, with a prayer service at 7 p.m.

Mathilda Wanner, daughter of Karl and Katherina (Kirscherman) Wanner, was born Nov. 17, 1909, at Wishek. She grew up and was schooled in Logan County. Mathilda was united in marriage to Albert Lang on Dec. 15, 1929, at Wishek. They lived and farmed in the Wishek area until the fall of 1973 and then moved into Wishek. Albert died in 1972. Mathilda moved into the Wishek Apartments in 1995 and into the Wishek Home for the Aged in 1999. She was a member of the United Church of Christ at Wishek.

Mathilda is survived by two sons, Richard (Esther) Lang, Wishek, and Vernon (Jo Ann) Lang, Lakeville, Minn.; one granddaughter, Cindy (Bill) Benjamin; four step-grandchildren, Darrel, Lee (Sheryl), Susan, and Roger (Sherry) Danielson; one great-grandson; four step-great-grandchildren; three step-great-great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Elizabeth Humann, Winstead, Minn., and Esther Murrey, Wilton.

She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents, Karl and Katherina Wanner; one sister, Katie Humann; and five brothers, Fred, John, Christ, Dan and Karl Jr.
