Norman R. Meland, 84, Driscoll, joined his wife Donna in their heavenly home Feb. 12, 2019.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 15, at Grace Lutheran Church, Driscoll.
Family will be greeting visitors from 5 to 8 p.m. today, Feb. 14, at Eastgate Funeral Service, 2302 E. Divide Ave., Bismarck. Sharing of memories time will begin at 7 p.m.
Norman was born Aug. 11, 1934, the son of Helmer and Lauretta Meland. He married Donna Schock and together, with their children, Suzette, Erick, and Melissa, they made their lifetime home in Driscoll. Norman owned and managed Driscoll Grocery and Locker for 57 years until his retirement in October 2015. Norm loved traveling with his family, just not too far from Driscoll or for too long. While traveling, he always introduced himself, "I'm Norm, from Driscoll." Norman loved his family, his faith, and his hometown of Driscoll.
Norman is survived by his children, Suzette, Erick (Kemerley), Melissa (Kyle); grandchildren, Jennifer, Jamison, Andrew, and Chiara; sister, Janice (Roger) Koester; and loving nieces and nephews.
He was welcomed into heaven by his wife, Donna; son-in-law, Dean Pegors; his parents; four brothers and two sisters; and all the many friends he made over his 84 years.
