Paul Carlton Gussner, 83, Seattle, Wash., died Feb. 19, 1998, in an Auburn, Wash. hospital. Memorial services will be 4 p.m. PST today at First Presbyterian Church, Kent, Wash.
Paul C. Gussner was born on Oct. 28, 1914, in Bismarck, the son of Arthur and Alfie (Severson) Gussner. He grew up and attended school in Bismarck. Paul married Phyllis Carroll on Jan. 10, 1939.
They made their home in Mandan, where Paul worked at Mandan Creamery, KGCU Radio Station and Morning Pioneer News. He also owned Gussner Office Supply. In 1967, he moved to Minneapolis and worked for the Gold Bond Co.
Paul married Marion Smith on Aug. 2, 1978. They retired in Seattle.
Paul was very active in Mandan civic affairs.
He is survived by his wife, Marion; two daughters and one son-in-law, Judy and Dave Bement, Bismarck, and Jane Imbler, Connecticut; five grandchildren, Ashley, Austin and Allison Bement, and Virginia and Charlotte Imbler; one sister, Ardith Taylor, Tennessee; and one sister-in-law, Lucille Christian, Washington.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Phyllis Gussner; one son, Wayne Gussner; and one brother, Robert Gussner.
