Sandra Schulz

Sandra Lee Schulz, 52, was called home Dec. 18, 2018, after a lengthy and courageous battle with breast cancer.

A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Dec. 21, at Parkway Funeral Service, 2330 Tyler Parkway, Bismarck, with the Rev. Sylvia Bull officiating. Burial will be at noon Friday at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, Mandan.

There will be no visitation, as cremation has taken place.

Sandy was born in Fargo May 5, 1966, thereafter adopted by Raymond and Patricia Friez, who raised her brother and her to be the best that they could be at whatever they chose to do. Educated in Bismarck, and with additional schooling at the Law Enforcement Academy in Devils Lake, Sandy was a prized dispatcher for both the Mandan/Morton and Bismarck/Burleigh Communications Centers.

Sandy was at her work peak when officers were being requested (or the officers themselves needed information), first responders were being sent on calls for service, or phones were ringing off the hook during a storm or 4th of July festivities, sometimes simultaneously. She was at her home peak when special food requests, help with homework, pets needing extra loving and organizing the family for outings were needed, especially needling her husband when a trip to the Teeny Farm was needed.

Sandy's love of work, home, family and selfless service to others will be missed by all. A special thanks to the staff and doctors of Sanford 4SE and ICU, whose tireless work day in and out does not go unnoticed.

Sandy leaves behind her husband, Todd; her daughter, Alex (Chase); her son, Jerome; her brother, Curt (Denice); her father-in-law, Jim; nephews, Matt, Kyle (Julia), and Nick (Sarah); and her favorite Colorado cousins, Stacy and Mia; along with numerous aunts, uncles and cousins spread far and wide.

Sandy was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Patricia Friez; her mother-in-law, Shirley Schulz; her brother-in-law, Jeffrey; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
