ELIZABETHTOWN — Thomas Michael Gonda, 75, of Elizabethtown, N.C. passed away on April 20, 2016. Tom was born in Portage, Pa. to the late Steve Gonda and Mary Gonda.
Tom served his country in the United States Marine Corps and worked as an electrical maintenance technician until retirement. After retirement, Tom enjoyed spending time with family, mystery shopping, and "tinkering" on his cars. A stranger to no one, Tom made friends wherever he went and was a true pet lover at heart.
Along with his parents, Tom is preceded in death by his brothers and sister, Steve, Sylvester, Eugene, Edward, and Josephine.
Tom is survived by his son, Thomas M. Gonda, Jr.; son, Bradley G. Gonda; and grandchildren, Mary E. Gonda, Zachary F. Gonda, Emma L. Neely-Gonda, and W. Hunter Neely-Gonda. Tom is also survived by a large circle of relatives and friends.
A celebration of life service will be held from 3-5 p.m. on Saturday June 4, 2016 at Open Door Ministries in Elizabethtown, N.C.
Interment date pending in a national cemetery.
