Eli Pearson Dalton

EDNEYVILLE, NC- Eli Pearson Dalton, 86, of Edneyville, NC was reunited with his late wife, Mae on Monday, February 8, 2021. He passed peacefully in his sleep due to complications from COVID.
He was a native and lifelong resident of Henderson County.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mae "Tootsie" Dalton, a daughter, Iris "Dee" Dalton, a son, Davey Dalton, brothers, Alvin Dalton and John M. Dalton, granddaughter, Amber McNeely and a great granddaughter, Zoey Olivia Dalton.
He was a self-employed farmer who tended to his cattle daily including gathering hay for them during the summer.
Eli enjoyed splitting firewood in his free time. When not piddling around on his farm you would find him sleeping in his chair under the shade tree.
He enjoyed visiting with his friends at the local auction house on Friday and Saturday nights.
He is survived by a sister, Clover Dodson of Bat Cave; a sister-in-law, Faye Dalton of Edneyville; two children, Dwight Dalton and Lisa Taylor and her husband, Mike all of Edneyville; daughters-in-law, Kathy Dalton and Caroline Dalton both of Hendersonville, NC; six grandchildren, Sherry Dalton Campbell, Shelly Metcalf, Sherena Scott, Laura Dalton, Chris McDevitt and Jessica Case; thirteen great grandchildren, Haden, Hannah, Rebecca, Madison, Garret, Zachary, Rachel, Mason, Shelby, Chance, Kyleigh, Bradley and Caleb; two great-great grandchildren, Marlee and Haisley and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Friday, February 12th from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Jackson Funeral Service. A graveside service will be held 2:00 PM Saturday at Forest Lawn Memorial Park with Rev. Dale Gilbert and Rev. Tony Youngblood officiating.
