Eugene Dickson Obituary
He attended Dreher High School and then was graduated from The University of the South. After college, he studied at Boston University.
He and his wife, Lesesne, met on a glorious day at Lake Summit, near Saluda, where both of their families spent the summers. They raised their family in Greenville, SC, where Gene worked for many years in advertising. He ended his career in that field as president of Leslie Advertising Agency.
Later in life, Gene and Lesesne moved full time to Saluda and swam down Lake Summit most every day that weather permitted. Gene was an avid horticulturalist and he was a renaissance man -- reading, learning, writing, and drawing were part of every day, as was feeding the hummingbirds.
He is survived by his wife, Lesesne, his two daughters; Blakely Griggs of Houston and her husband Trey Griggs, his daughter, Eliza Gray of Greenville; grandchildren Wade Griggs, Eliza Griggs, Blake Gray, Louise Gray, Sam Griggs and Keitt Gray; brothers Alex Dickson and Blake Dickson; sister-in-law, VeeVee Blackshear; nieces Vivian Luke, Allison Luke and Leda Jackson and nephew Ike Dickson.
The service will be held at 11:00 in the morning on Saturday, October 28, at The Church of the Transfiguration in Saluda, NC.

It was with heavy heart that I learned the news. It carried me back to those wonderful days on the Mountain and our various adventures like preaching on the square in McMinville in our gowns. A truly remarkable man and a lifetime friend. I pray that all of you do well during this time.

We were shocked and saddened to learn of Gene's death. He was such a lovely man and a best friend of our family and friends growing up.Gene will be missed by so many.

Gene will be missed by all who knew him. He was a wonderful, caring, thoughtful man who loved his family and friends.. I knew him at Dreher and as president of Leslie Advertising Agency.
