Joe Lyda Obituary

Joe Luther Lyda, 74, of Stephens City, VA, went to be with the Lord on Monday, August 22, 2016.
He was born April 17, 1942 in Henderson, NC the son of Paul and Sara Warren Lyda.
He was married to Gladys V. "Tina" Lyda.
Joe loved to work outside and watch things grow. He worked for several local apple orchards. His last place of employment was E.R. Neff Construction of Stephens City.
Surviving in addition to his wife of twenty-two years are a son, Joe Hornback and his wife Cindy of Black Mountain, NC; two daughters, Lavinia Lockamy and her husband Wayne of Myrtle Beach, SC and Sarina Simmons and her husband Matt of Gaithersburg, MD; three granddaughters, Brooke Hornback, and Sarah and Alana Lockamy; three grandsons, Austin, Connor and Logan Simmons and several nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly.
His parents and two sisters, Barbara Fowler and Patsy Honeycutt are all deceased.
A funeral service will be Saturday, September 3rd at 2:00 p.m. in Phelps Funeral Chapel, 311 Hope Drive, Winchester with Pastor Clarence "Chuck" Davis, Jr. officiating.
