Lorenza B. Zimmerman, born January 8, 1927, passed away at the age of 97 on September 26, 2024, in Las Cruces, New Mexico known affectionately as Nina, she was cherished figure within her family and community although she never had children of her own, Nina embraced the role of a loving aunt, treating her nieces and nephews as if they were her won. After completing her education at Las Cruces High School. She entered the workforce, eventually retiring from the Popular Department store in downtown Las Cruces. Her commitment to her family and career exemplified her hardworking and caring nature. Nina was a devout member of St. Genevieve’s Church, where she participated actively in the community. Her faith played a significant role in her life, offering her comfort and sense of belonging.
Nina dedicated her life to caring for her parents, Catalina and Francisco Duran, who preceded her death, along with her siblings Monica Valles, Rosalia Lopez, Dora Sanchez, Stella Rivera and Frank Duran.
She is survived by her brother Manuel Duran.
The Community will honor her memory with a rosary at 10:00 am followed by a mass at 10:30 am on October 22, 2024 at St. Genevieve Church. Those wishing to commemorate Nina’s life are invited to attend and celebrate her enduring spirit and contributions to the lives of those around her.
