Jacqueline Mae Hietala

1940 - 2025

Jacqueline Mae Hietala, age 84 of Grand Rapids, MN, passed away on Tuesday, May 6, 2025, at Grand Village.

Jackie was born in 1940 to John "Jake" and Zoe Hietala in Grand Rapids, MN. She graduated from Floodwood High School and worked for the US Defense Communications Agency and the Federal Government for over 20 years. During this time, she traveled extensively around Europe. She returned to Grand Rapids, MN in the 1970s and worked for local restaurants and thrifts stores.

Jackie enjoyed traveling, photography, drawing, writing, and art. One of her more memorable trips was seeing Jerusalem before returning to the United States. She was a longtime member of River of Life Church, Grand Rapids, MN.

Jackie is preceded in death by her parents, infant brother, and many extended family members.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, June 5, 2025, at 10:00am at River of Life Church, Grand Rapids, MN followed by the 11:00am memorial service. The burial will be at Itasca-Calvary Cemetery, Grand Rapids, MN on Friday, June 6, 2025, at 10:00am.
