James Boaz, Jr. Obituary
James C. “Jimmy” Boaz Jr., 80, of Penhook, Virginia, passed away peacefully on October 7, 2025, at Pheasant Ridge Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Roanoke, Virginia.
Born on September 23, 1945, Jimmy was the son of the late James C. Boaz Sr. and Margorie Wingfield Dean. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Melvin “Winky” Dean.
A hardworking and spirited man, Jimmy was the proud owner of James C. Boaz Trucking. He had a passion for fast cars, motorcycles, four-wheelers, and target shooting. Jimmy loved fiercely and deeply, with a particularly special bond with his mother and children.
He is survived by his children: sons Alex Finney and Adam Finney, and daughter Kayla Salyers; grandchildren Evan Salyers and Wyatt Salyers; niece Kayla Dean; and a host of extended family members and friends who will miss him dearly.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, October 15, 2025, at Boones Chapel Church - Brethren in Penhook, Virginia. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at the Wingfield Family Cemetery.

Lots of fond memories with him Victor my Brother and myself .. he loved fast cars and was always kind to us. Sorry that I didn’t get to see you more often life throws us curves when least expected.
