JoBeth Wilhelmina Black

JoBeth Wilhelmina Black, 38, passed away on Monday, July 1, 2024, surrounded by her family. She was born in Red Wing, Minnesota on March 25, 1986, the daughter of Will and Jo Ellen (Godfrey) Black.
In her shortened lifetime she achieved many accomplishments. She was a 2004 graduate of Westminster Christian Academy. In 2008, she earned a BS in Biology from the University of Georgia. In 2012, she graduated from Maryville University with her BSN-RN, where she was inducted into the National Honor Society of Nurses (Sigma Theta Tau Chapter). She was a nurse at Barnes Jewish Hospital for 13 years in the Neuro Surgery and Acute Neuro ICU. In her younger years, she studied and had a passion for ballet, performing with many ballet companies. She was a Girl Scout (Eastern MO GSC), earning the prestigious Gold Award, and she was a lifetime member of GSUSA. JoBeth was a voracious reader who also had a great love of the outdoors. She was an avid skier, hiker, and fly fisherman.
She is survived by her parents, Will and Jo Ellen Black; brother Drew (fiancé Angie Huber) Black; granddaughter of Lindsey Godfrey and step-granddaughter of Andrea Godfrey; aunts Retha Godfrey Mason, Anna (Rev. Roy) Hendrickson, Jonna (late Rev. John) Black, and Margaret McClure; cousins Margaret, Karen, Rachel, Laura, Julia, Holly, Melody, Roy IV. JoBeth was preceded in death by her grandparents Thomas and Betty Black and Hubert
"Bud" Godfrey.
Services: Pending at Schrader Funeral Home in Ballwin, Missouri and Butler
Funeral Home in Bolivar. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Pedal the Cause/Will Black or Andrew Black-rider, to benefit Cancer Research at Siteman and St. Louis Children's Cancer Centers or to Maryville University Nursing Scholarships.
