Kathy Dean Vest

Kathy Dean Vest, 63, of Bolivar, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 12, 2025, surrounded by family. Kathy was born March 5, 1962, in Humansville, to Ernest "Wayne" and Ava Vest of Fair Play. Kathy was one of eleven children born to Wayne and Ava Vest. She was preceded in death by her parents, Wayne and Ava Vest, brother Ricky "Roco" Vest, and her sister Shirley Vest. She is survived by her eight siblings, Jimmy (Bev) Vest of Bolivar, Becky of Humansville, Bobby (Pat) Vest of Bolivar, Patsy Johnson of Bolivar, Cindy Rowell of Bolivar, Randy (Melissa) Vest of Humansville, Debbie (John) Hollenbeck of Bolivar, and Marsha Marsha Marsha (Bob) Durst of Fair Play. Along with many nieces and nephews and one aunt, Linda Proctor Westcoat of Dunnegan.
Kathy graduated from Fair Play High School and started her first job at 18 years old working at the Sale Barn in Fair Play. After that, Kathy worked for Baker Management until she started her job with Home Court Advantage in Bolivar, where she worked for 25 years. She loved her job and the ones she worked with very much. She cherished her moments with the kids she took care of. She cherished working for Home Court Advantage and her amazing boss, Jack McCrimmon, who was more like family to Kathy than a boss.
Kathy will be missed dearly by her family and friends, but we know she is rejoicing in heaven with her mom, dad, brother, and sister, along with several aunts and uncles. In lieu of flowers, Kathy has requested any donations be made in her name to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
