Shirley Shook Memoriam

Shirley Ann Hutchins Shook was born on July 31, 1938, to Jesse "Chinkey" and Mae Fisher Hutchins in Fair Play.
She was saved at a young age and baptized into the First Baptist Church in the '50s with her mom and dad.
In high school, she met the love of her life, William "Bill" Shook. They were married July 4, 1959, in the home of her parents. Father of the groom's dad, Brooks Shook, married them. They spent 60 years together. To this union two children were born, Paula Lynn Shook Evans and Darin Brooks Shook.
Through the years, they were active at the Fair Play First Baptist Church. Shirley loved and was creative in making flower arrangements and working outside with real flowers.
Shirley is survived by her children, Paula Evans and husband Bobby and Darin Shook and wife Christi; grandchildren Brandon Evans and wife Laurie, Justin Evans and wife Christina, Anna Evans and fiance Dakota Baugher, Caleb Shook and wife Kayla and Caylee Shook; great-grandchildren Austin, Breanna and Caleb Evans, Aurora, Stella and Sophia Shook; a sister, Wanda Kirby of Kansas City, Kansas; brother-in-law, Joe Shook and wife Dora of Mulvane, Kansas; sister-in-law, Jenny Shook of Bolivar; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and many caring friends.
Preceding her in death were her parents and beloved husband, Bill.
Visitation will be at 1 p.m. Friday, Feb. 11, at the Butler Funeral Home in Bolivar. Services for Shirley will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 11, at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Akard Cemetery in Fair Play.
