Diane Peters Obituary

Diane Rae Peters, 74

In the early hours of Sunday, September 28, 2025, Diane Peters left us unexpectedly, with the quiet grace that marked her life. The Lord took her into His arms in a sudden but peaceful moment, perfectly fitting for someone so thoughtful and kind throughout her life.Diane was a woman of integrity, hard work, and quiet strength. A talented entrepreneur, she built her own path with determination and care. Her lifelong love of dance brought people together - first at the Arthur Murray studio in Minneapolis, and later in Sandpoint, Idaho, where she taught ballroom and created lasting friendships. In recognition of her impact, the Mayor of Sandpoint declared January 27 "Diane Peters Day."Diane cherished time with her daughters, Jennifer and Kelly. She was their steady supporter and constant source of encouragement. Her greatest joy came from being "Mimi" to her grandchildren - Raghaen and Mackenzie Anderson, and Hattie and Hudson Bluhm. She is survived by her daughters Jennifer (Drew) Anderson, Kelly (Jay Bluhm) Peters, her grandchildren Raghaen and Mackenzie Anderson and Hattie and Hudson Bluhm. She is also survived by her siblings, Bonnie Walmsley, Jim (Joan) Nelson, Brad (Debbie) Nelson, and Nancy (Gary) Sukowatey, as well as many nieces and nephews who loved her dearly. She is reunited in God's care with her husband, Robert Peters, and her parents, Dolores Henneberry and Donald Nelson.Memorial services will be held in both Minneapolis and Sandpoint, Idaho, with details to be shared at a later date.Diane's faith was a guiding part of her life, and her family finds comfort in knowing she is at peace with God.In her memory, the family asks that instead of flowers, you help a friend or neighbor in need - just as Diane so often did, quietly and with kindness.
