Michael Munn Obituary

Michael Charles Munn, 65

Michael Charles Munn, 65, born in San Francisco, died in Hope, ID on June 25th 2023. The memorial will be at 11 AM on Saturday, August 19th at Cedar Hills Church in Sandpoint, ID. Come as you are! No fancy or black attire. Just dress as you normally do! We'll be celebrating his life lived!

Mike loved the outdoors. You could find him being active in nature year round. He loved hiking, biking, motorcycle riding, skiing, boating, fishing and camping. He was the happiest when he was outside, breathing the air, with his heart pumping and walking with God. He was a world traveler and an avid road tripper.

Mike was a computer engineer who took early retirement in order to enjoy doing all of the things that he loved like reading, watching documentaries, working out, gardening, walking, playing guitar, and spending quality time with his wife.

Mike believed in things being right, but he knew that life wasn't fair. He saw things as they were, and was an amazing judge of character. He could fix anything and loved flowers. Mike lived a great life and left the world better than he found it.

He was a hopeful realist and he left a positive mark on everyone he met. He accomplished all of the goals that he set for himself in life and he lived exactly the way that he wanted to. Mike liked to give back to his community through volunteer work and donations.

He was deeply loved by his son Matthew, his sisters, Kiersten, and Kelly and his wife, Kimberly. He has a grandson, Dorian that he loved deeply.

He loved living but he didn't fear death and he seized every day that he could. Mike did not suffer. Esophageal cancer took him very quickly. After a month of knowing that he had cancer, he died, at home, in his bed, with his wife just as he wanted.

Mike, your wonderful joy-filled smile, beautiful heart, and incredible presence will be missed more than words could ever express. We love you!

Mike kept in touch with me since I knew him, everything was like yesterday with the memories whe we talked Munster...,as we new him... we as in all his buddies who llived in a small town of Montara back in the 7Os and and 80s... true he was one of the new guys from the city, as the new guy he would grapple with most of us at one time or another to prove his case to hang out or to be apart of the crew he did just that laughing all the way, a good friend great sense of humor he had a big cruiser impala car ..i loved Mike and his younger brother Glen with a blond white frizzy hair job playing led lepplin as did his most... the Montara crew will never be the same without him RIP giancarlo Hnatt aka giannirotten

I'll always remember the discussions Mike and I had before the '16 elections. Super smart and very fair minded. I will forever have you and your little brother in my memories.

HMB HS and fellow Montara mad man.

Mike, what a character, a real joy to be around. I really loved to party with Mike, he always provided an excitement to the occasion no matter where or when. On the rare occasions when our paths crossed later in life he still retained his happy demeanor...a big smile a hearty handshake and a "bro" hug. He will be missed...Montara has lost another son. See you in paradise my brother. My sympathies to Kimberly and family.
