Robert Hoopes Obituary
Dr. Robert Steven Hoopes, 69, passed away on Thursday, July 20, 2023 in Sandpoint, Idaho. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, August 4, 2023 at North Summit Church with Pastor Steve Brown officiating.
Steve was born on November 12, 1953 in Atwater, CA to Robert and Evelyne Hoopes. He grew up and attended schools in Fresno, graduating from McLane High School. He earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from Fresno City College and his Doctorate of Chiropractic from Palmer College of Chiropractic.
Steve married Shirley Lowder on February 26, 1977 in Davenport, IA. He owned and operated Hoopes Chiropractic Office, Inc. in Fresno. Steve retired in 2019 and moved to Sandpoint.
He was a member of North Summit Church. He was a lifetime learner and earned numerous post graduate degrees. He loved swimming with his grandchildren, being in water was his freedom. He was a member of Kings River Country Club and active in International College of Applied Kinesiology (ICAK). A Charter Member of the Monterey Bay Aquarium. Helping with Farsighted 4-H group with a love of all creatures great and small. He was an avid golfer, enjoyed music, movies, Disneyland, cars, and aviation.
He is survived by his wife Shirley Hoopes of Sandpoint, son Jaeson (Teresa) Hoopes of Sanger, CA, Katie Hoopes of Sandpoint, three grandchildren Spencer, Xander and Lukas, and one sister Cynthia Hoopes of Fresno.
