Hollyce Ruth Neumeyer, 94

Hollyce Neumeyer, 94, passed away on June 6, 2025, in Eagle, Idaho. Hollyce Ruth Anderson was born on August 21, 1930, in Magnolia, Iowa, to Arthur and Hazel Anderson. Hollyce was raised on a small farm in Magnolia with an older brother and younger sister. She attended Magnolia Consolidated School from grades 1 -12 and was Valedictorian of her graduating class. After graduation, she attended Westmar College in La Mars, Iowa, and received her teaching certificate. She taught 5th grade in Denison, Iowa.

In 1954, Hollyce met the love of her life, Bob Neumeyer, at a Homecoming dance in Denison. They married on June 24, 1955, and would have celebrated their 70th anniversary this year. Over the next 9 years they had four children and made their home in Tipton, Iowa, where Hollyce continued to teach school. In 1963 the family moved to Yakima, Washington, where Bob had accepted a position with the Western Livestock Journal. Hollyce flew out west with her mother and 4 small children-the first time on an airplane for any of them. Over the next 5 years, they moved numerous times until finally finding their "forever home" at Jaynbee Angus Ranch in Bonners Ferry, Idaho.

Hollyce may have said she was a rancher's wife but that does not describe what she contributed. For 50 years, she was an equal partner with Bob in Jaynbee Angus Ranch, sharing in the work, the stresses, and the rewards. She loved driving "her" tractor early in the mornings to feed the cattle – regardless of the weather.

After years of cold and snowy winters at the ranch, Hollyce and Bob began spending their winters in Lake Havasu, Arizona, learning how to relax. They also traveled the world going on Angus tours as well as many cruises. They hosted their children and grandchildren on several of those cruises.

Hollyce was a longtime member of Trinity Lutheran Church and enjoyed singing in the church choir. She also enjoyed going to Circle to study the bible and socialize with her friends from church. She was a substitute teacher at Mt. Hall Elementary School for years. She was an active member of the Boundary County Cowbells, square danced for several years and was actively involved with her children in the Kootenaimares 4-H Club. She was a seamstress, enjoyed gardening and cooking, and played the piano.

Hollyce is survived by three of her children – Nancy (George) Langfield of Nampa, Idaho, Gary (Barbara) Neumeyer of Puerto Armuelles, Panama, and Jeff (Mary) Neumeyer of Eagle, Idaho; her grandchildren Maximillian (Rebekah) Langfield, Nampa, Idaho; Ethan Langfield, Boise, Idaho: Kyle Neumeyer, Anchorage, Alaska; Casey Neumeyer, Gillette, Wyoming; Ayla Neumeyer, Washington, D.C.; Robert Bojorquez, Seattle, Washington; Daniel (Lea) Neumeyer, Portland, Oregon; David (Madison) Neumeyer, Boise, Idaho; Joseph (Olivia) Neumeyer, Boise, Idaho; Alyssa Neumeyer, Eagle, Idaho; and Meianna Neumeyer, Eagle, Idaho. She met her first great-granddaughter, Liisa Langfield, earlier this year, and has 2 more great-grandchildren on the way.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Bob Neumeyer, her beloved daughter Jean Neumeyer Bojorquez, her sister and best friend, Ilene, and her brother Arlyn.

Funeral services will be at Trinity Lutheran Church in Bonners Ferry on Friday, June 20, at 11 a.m. followed by a luncheon at the church and interment at the Grandview Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the Jean Ann (Neumeyer) Bojorquez Memorial and Robert H and Hollyce Neumeyer Angus Scholarship Endowment Fund. The Angus Foundation Scholarship Selection Committee uses this Endowment Fund to award an annual College Scholarship to an outstanding National Junior Angus Association member at the National Junior Angus Show in honor of Bob and Hollyce and their daughter Jean. Jean's son, Robert, will be presenting the award this year in Tulsa, Oklahoma, in honor of his mom and grandparents.
