Michael Joseph Obituary

Michael "Mikey" Sean Joseph, 56

Michael "Mikey" Sean Joseph, 56, of Bonners Ferry passed from this life and went home to be with the Lord on Friday, March 21, 2025. Born April 5, 1968 to Mike and Joni Joseph, Mikey was always a happy playful kid. He had several hobbies and interests growing up; he loved to fish, play golf and ski with his family, to name a few. Mikey was a carpenter in the summer and worked 35 years grooming the slopes at Schweitzer Mountain Resort. He loved his job as a groomer and had numerous amazing stories about his experiences on the hill. Mikey had a huge heart that touched the lives of many friends and neighbors in the community. You may have run into him at Badger Building Supply as he helped you load supplies. Mikey had a love for animals-he trained his cat to do circus tricks for treats. His dogs Harley and Griff were like his children, and he took them everywhere. Mikey also had a love for Geology and would point out all the geological features that were created by this flood or that glacier and had a big collection of rocks.

Mikey was a loving son. He was very supportive of his mother and father and was there to help them any time they asked. He drove his mother to Spokane for many doctor appointments, helped to bring in her firewood every year, and shoveled snow for her whenever she needed it. Mikey was a great big brother, fishing partner and ski buddy and all-around childhood compadre. There were many days spent in the mountains riding motorcycles, camping, fishing and the like.

Mikey met the love of his life, Georgia Hayes in 2015. They were best friends and adventure buddies. They enjoyed spending time camping and fishing on the Moyie River. Mike and Georgia loved having the grandbabies come spend time with them and Mikey greatly enjoyed being a grandpa. They shared many happy times together and were married in the Spring of 2025.

Mikey had a playful sense of humor and was always ready with a joke. He will be remembered fondly.

Mikey is survived by his loving wife Georgia, his mother Joni, and his brother Joshua (Mary). Mikey was preceded in death by his father, Michael B. Joseph.

Mike's memorial service details will be determined at a later date. Farewell Mikey, we love you! The Bonners Ferry Funeral Home is caring for the family. To leave a message or memory for the family go to: www.bonnersferryfuneralhome.com.
