Mr. Bobbit was a wonderful chemistry teacher and a mentor. He accompanied me to New York City on a trip sponsored by Bell Labs and Western Electric in 1972. I will always remember him fondly.

Lee's Summit has lost another great teacher. Mr. Bobbit was a wonderful person, teacher, mentor, and fellow kindred spirit. Chemistry and science became part of my life because of Mr. Bobbitt and his ability to make it interesting and enjoyable. I don't think I will ever forget the rockets in physics class as they majestically soared over LSHS, much to the objections of the administration and possibly the Highway Patrol.
He worked with my dad, other teachers, some friends, and I during sporting events after school. Getting to know a teacher after the last bell rings (and you are not in trouble) was an invaluable opportunity to learn more than just a lesson plan, exercise, activity, or lab project. Those were some of the best times to get to know, understand, and learn from the person behind the chalk and podium about life.
My thoughts and prayers are with his family during this difficult time. I pray that you find peace and rejoice in all the wonderful tributes to Mr.B.

I salute a man who had a very positive impact on my life. The grounding he gave me in science carried through my college and graduate education and entire career. There are never enough teachers of his caliber.

I am so sorry to hear of Mr. Bobbit's passing. He was a wonderful teacher who made chemistry class truly enjoyable. We learned and we laughed at two tongue-in-cheek slogans for our experiments: "If all fails, read the directions." and "If a little works, a lot will do better!" Blessings and many heartfelt thank yous to Mr. Bobbit and his family.

When Bob worked for the Lee's Summit Housing authority he inspected the apartments that I manage. He was a neat guy and fun to tease. I am so sorry for your loss.

There are a handful of teachers who make a difference in the lives of students and even fewer who are aware of the impact they make. Mr. Bobbit was one of those teachers. He set the bar high and while he was tough, he was also caring and that showed in everything he did, inside and outside of the classroom. Many of us didn't realize the impact he would have on our lives at the time, but as we remember back through the years, we do now. Condolences to everyone in the Bobbit family and you are in my family's thoughts and prayers.

Although I attended the school where you taught I did not have the pleasure of knowing you as a teacher. I did have the honor of getting to know you when you worked for the Housing Authority in L.S. and can't begin to tell you how much I appreciated the kindness you showed my grandmother. You were indeed a gracious and giving individual and will be missed.

Mr. Bobbit made chemistry fun. He taught me to enjoy the analytical practice of chemistry. I pursued the enjoyment of chemistry and worked in laboratories for several years before graduating college with a minor in chemistry. His legacy continued as I taught hundreds of students toxicology. He made a difference in this world.

Bob taught chemistry at Longview Community College when I was a student there. I always loved his class. He knew how to teach so a person would remember what he was being taught. I was an adult student 38 at the time. He always had time to help me after class.
