Quilla Franich Obituary

Quilla Dean (Topper, Hall) Franich, 90, of Stinnett passed away peacefully Saturday, February 13, at her home in the guest suite of her beloved niece and nephew-in-law, Toni and Jeff Mills.

A funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM on Sat., June 12, 2021, at St. Ann's Catholic Church in Stinnett. Burial will follow in the City of Stinnett Cemetery beside her late husband and near her late son. Rev. James M. Schmitmeyer will officiate. Cremation was by Burgin Funeral Home, Borger, TX; and arrangements by Burgin and the family.

Quilla was born October 4, 1930, in Ripley, Oklahoma, to Charles and Alma Topper. She graduated from Pawnee High School. Quilla married Vernon Hall in Okla. They welcomed two children into their family. Then, they moved to
Las Cruces, New Mexico. Later, Quilla married Frank "Chummy" Franich; and, they were happily married for 46 years until his death in 2015. She gained four bonus children when they married.

She was a loving, intelligent, adventurous, and beautiful woman. She loved nature, birds, and animals, especially her pet dogs and songbirds. She had quite the green thumb with her houseplants and gardens. She was an accomplished seamstress. She enjoyed entertaining friends and family with her great cooking and welcoming home. She played the piano and organ skillfully and enjoyed leading sing-a-longs with family and friends. She loved everything western: decor, novels, dancing, and horseback riding.

She was the valued partner and office manager for the ventures with her husband, Chummy, in real estate development and his general contracting to build homes, build commercial buildings, and remodel homes in NM, Utah, Minnesota, Washington State, and TX. Plus, they developed and operated a cattle ranch in Utah, campgrounds in Minn. and TX, mobile home parks in NM and TX, and a laundry mat in NM.

She was a devoted wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend. She was a woman of deep faith who treasured being spiritually fed by regular church attendance as long as health permitted. She will be dearly missed.

She is survived by: her bonus children, sons, Richard Dean Franich (Debra), Rock Springs, WY;Terry Dale Franich, American Fork, UT; Gregory Franich (Erin), Bettendorf, IA; daughter, Karen Franich (f.k.a. Beachler and Moore), East Moline, IL; son-in-law Joe Enriquez (Monica), Cedar Park, TX; daughter-in-law Maytiya Hall (Gabriel Kerr), Curlew, WA; 16 grandchildren, and 19 great-grandchildren; plus her two beloved nieces who cared for her in her last seven years: Toni Mills (Jeff) and Teresa Cordova (Manuel), both of Stinnett; niece Jennifer Grimes (Jack), Oklahoma City; many special and helpful great and great-great nephews and nieces; and hers and Chummy's best friends, Marvin and Angeline Aldrich, Las Cruces.

She was preceded in death by: Her parents; sister, Arleta (Topper, Cole) Dennis (E.L.), Amarillo, TX; son, Terry Wayne Hall, 61, Colville, WA; daughter, Tami (Hall, Franich) Enriquez (Joe), 40, Austin, TX; and grandson, Michael Beachler, 25, East Moline and Sherrard, IL.
