Mrs Sewell was one of my favorite teachers. But she knew my younger brother, Todd before I had her as a teacher. He had worked as a kennel boy for Dr. Sewell. He always got a kick out of the fact that I finally had a teacher who would mistakenly call me by his name as he had had several that would call him by mine since he was a year behind me. She was a sweet lady and a great teacher.

Mrs. Sewell made me like English class because she was a great teacher, and she didn't put up with nonsense. I will miss her and the lessons of life she taught. Tough to a point and always available for her students. You helped expand my work ethic and will be severely missed!

Viva will be missed. We visited her at the Continental and had a wonderful time. We always laughed about her sculpture of the lady with long hair. She was a sweetheart!

Mrs. Sewell was one of those wonderful educators who taught so much more than an academic subject. She taught life lessons about respect, dedication, hard work, and creative thinking. Though I will forever remember and love Canterbury Tales because of this dear lady, it is those life lessons that helped guide me through even the toughest moments in my life. Her life was a gift to so many, and her legacy will continue in all those who's lives she touched. May God bring comfort to her family and friends as they mourn the loss of such a special lady.

I will remember Viva as a beautiful classy lady. She could be found at the Elks Lodge on a Friday night and dancing every chance she got. She always put a smile on my face. I was blessed to know her and praying for her familys loss.

Mrs. Sewell, you definitely challenged me! I had to write a research paper and my subject was "Children of Divorce" and the statistics I read broke my heart repeatedly; but you pushed me forward and prodded me to do all of the hardest topics and leave all of the other "candy coated " information for someone who couldn't handle to be honest about life. I understood myself little better after your class. Thank you for the laughter, the tears and the A that I NEVER thought you would give me. Rest well Ma'am and I will see you when I get there...

Mrs.Sewell was one of my favorite teachers. She had such a wonderful sense of humor and her love for teaching made her a sensational educator. I was also in Eastern Star with her and she remained one of my favorite people later in life. Prayers for her family during this loss. God bless you all.

Viva was a neighbor and we both took classes at West Texas one summer. We carpooled and laughed all the way there and back home. She shared a pie recipe with me that my children think is the best pie in the world - pink lemonade pie. It is still one of their favorites to this day. Viva had beautiful flowers in her yard that were a delight for all her neighbors to see. Viva was vivacious to say the least! My condolences to the family.
