March 30, 2011

Dear Scott, Andrew, Joshua and Marissa-
As a long time Sinai employee, I had the privilege of knowing Abby, serving on committees with her or simply sharing a few moments on her many visits to the hospital. But it was not until three years ago that I truly learned to appreciate her very special gift.
When my son Benjamin began the first of two college internships at Triad, I hoped that he would have a good experience. Little did I know that he would be working alongside one of the best in the business. Abby took Benjamin under her wing, teaching him not only the "tricks of the trade" but instilling in him a work ethic that will serve him well for the rest of his life. And when he was offered a job upon graduation, we all knew that he could have not landed in a better place. From that day forward, whenever I saw Abby, she would tell me how much she enjoyed working with Ben. I hope that she knew how grateful we were that Ben had the chance to learn from the best.
I am profoundly sorry for this unbelievable loss. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Dear Scott, Andrew, Josh and Marissa,

I am so saddened by this news. Trying to make sense of it will not work for me and so instead I will, and hope all of you will, remember how blessed everyone who came into contact with Abby was. I had the immense pleasure of living, as a nanny, with the Zeitlan's for a year when Andrew was just 1 year old. I was always amazed at how young, cool, successful and generous this family was. I will never forget the incredible love in Abby's (and of course Scott's) face when she would walk in the door at the end of the day and see her son. It is something that has always stuck with me. She always went out of her way to make me feel comfortable in her home and I loved her for that. Her pea soup ( :) ), her generosity, her style, her beauty inside and out will never be forgotten. We recently got in touch again via facebook and I always loved to look at her pictures and marvel how she looked the exact same, only ten times happier with her complete family. I send my prayers to all of you back east...xoxoxo Stephanie

Dear Zeitlan (Neiterman) Family,
Although we've never met I do feel like I know a little bit about each of you. I was a client of Abby's for the last 10 years but more importantly Abby was a dear friend that I will always cherish. Let me try to explain why. In every business meeting that I ever had with Abby we always started with an update of how Scott, the kids, parents and in-laws were doing. We talked about sports, family holiday stories and most recently Falmouth. And of course she always made sure she heard all about my family and my life weather I liked it or not. It was a special and rare relationship. We will all miss Abby very much but my hope for each of you is that over time it will bring you some comfort to know how many lives Abby touched in special ways and how highly she is regarded on the professional side of her life. In closing Abby was caring, smart, generous, successful, fun, passionate, loyal and simply put one of my favorite people to be around. Rest in Peace My Friend.

My thoughts and prayers are with you all,

Kathleen McMorrow

Dear Zeitlan Family,
Like many others who have written before me, I too met Abby at the Haughey Group. I was young, just out of college, and though it was over 20 years ago, I still have such a strong memory of this very pregnant (with Andrew, I think?) woman waddling her way through the agency, working so incredibly hard right up until the day he was born.....In the eyes of this impressionable young woman, she was so smart, and calm, and so well respected by everyone who worked with her --and what's more, all her clients seemed to love her!
When I remember those days and the people that made up that special place, Abby is always in my thoughts.
I know there is not much I can do to ease the sorrow you are all feeling --this loss is so incredibly profound and I am so sorry. But please take solace in the knowledge that so many people loved Abby, and she touched so many lives. Her spirit and love will live on. My thoughts are with you all.

Dear Scott and Family,
I am so sorry for the sudden passing of your treasured Abby. She was a love. I met Abby at UMASS Amherst, we lived right beside each other in the dorm for 2 years. She and Debi, and Traci and I, became fast friends. We all lived together one year off Campus. The many fun times we all had together are in my heart forever. My memories of Abby are of a happy, beautiful and smart College student who chose to create her own Major, was kind to everyone, was always cheerful and friendly, and so very unique and classy.
Abby was a friend to all! To know how much she has accomplished both personally and professionally in her adult life is just so wonderful and bittersweet. We recently reconnected and it was a joy to discover my old friend again, and to see her living her dreams to the fullest. Abby got the life she always dreamed of, she had a blessed life w you all. My heart and prayers go out to you all at this very difficult and tremendously sad time in your lives! God Speed, my friend Abby.

The Haughey Group was a special place. It’s where I met Abby and many lifelong friends. She was a big part of that wonderful experience and it’s hard to imagine that one of our own is gone. Dear Zeitlan family.
Abby was a truly beautiful person and the consummate professional - talented and confident. As the former PR Director at SInai, I worked with her for nearly 15 years. She was always ready for a challenge - always creative in her solutions. I always enjoyed working with her, but Abby was more than a colleague to me - I also considered her a friend, who was there when I needed her. Over the yearswe shared interesting stories about our families and even recipes at holiday time. Every Passover she would call and say, "I'm making your brownies again this year."

Abby was vibrant and kind; she loved life and all those who touched hers; she cared about others and did what she could to make a difference.

Her passing is incredibly sad. I will miss her very much. She was a star during her lifetime, and I am sure her star will now look down on all of us.

My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

To Abby's Family, I am another of many professional colleagues who have worked with and admired Abby for many years. She and I have worked on projects for the two area hospitals as well as other charities I have been associated with. I always called upon Abby when there were no other places to turn, and she was always there for me, strong, gentle and with intelligent solutions. Abby was a mentor for me when I first started working at The Haughey Group in 1984 - she always made things look easy and she never let anyone see her sweat.
