I had the privilege of working with Albie throughout my career. He started as a mentor and became a dear friend. His generous and gregarious nature made it such a treat to be in his company. His pride in and love for his family was unparalleled. His support of so many important causes speaks volumes about his character and leadership. Sincere sympathies to his entire family. He will be missed.

I worked with Albie at Boston University Medical Center in the 1980s. I was his "little Jewish friend" from the opposite end of the state. Whenever my father would visit me from North Adams, Albie would insist on getting us Red Sox tickets, asking for nothing in return except for us to enjoy a great afternoon at Fenway Park.

Now, 40 years later, I'm remembering what a good guy he was. May he rest in peace.

To the Sherman Family-
We were among the founding board members of the New England Israel Business Council (NEIBC). Albie provided guidance, wisdom and his vast resources and amazing connections to help get the NEIBC off the ground. Albie was a great supporter and always made sure that our fledgling organization was part of the larger community. He was devoted to the cause of developing strong relations between Massachusetts and Israel and was so gracious with his time. We were very thankful for his support.

Please accept our heartfelt condolences.

I want to express my sincere gratitude and appreciation to Albie for all that gave of himself to all of us here at UMass Medical School. Albie was always tireless in his dedication and unflinching in his loyalty. He will be missed, and he will always be remembered by those of us who have the privilege to work in the Albert Sherman Center on the UMMS campus. Dean Terry Flotte

To the Sherman family
Albie was the best boss , best man a person could have ever asked for to be in your corner in both work and life. I worked for him for 5 years and they where my best years at UMMS. I will never forget his kindness, the laughs and the love he showed me and my family always. He loved his family so much and talked about everyone each day and made working for him even more of a pleasure. My heart is very sad for I haven't seen him in years but thought of him each week still working here at UMMS. Love and prayers to Linda and the Sherman family. Love and Much respect Mary-June (MJ) Courtois

To the Sherman family-
Albie was a force of nature. His laser-like vision for UMass Medical School brought us into a new era of collaboration and achievement. His love of politics and friendships will always be remembered. He could size a situation up with a twinkle in his eye and make change happen. I will always remember him as a friend and giant in our institution. Please accept my deepest condolensces.

So sorry to read about "Uncle Charlie's" passing.
We always have happy memories of our time together in Nantasket when we and Archie and Norma rented a house in 1957 for 1 month (including Uncle Charlie, of course).
