Alexander Mandrafino Obituary

MANDRAFINO, Alexander Of Watertown, December 26, 2010, after a three year battle with leukemia, age 87. Loving husband of Diane (Millian) Mandrafino for 59 years. Devoted father of Janice Lauren Mandrafino of Creve Coeur, Missouri and Lisa Henry and her husband Bill of Westwood, MA. Loving grandfather of Jacqueline, Natalie and Thomas. Brother of Albert Mandrafino of Framingham and the late Orion Mandrafino. Uncle of Paul, Corinne, Rose, Tom, Maria, Amanda, Albert, Alanna, Alex, Erik, Derek, Nasar, Katelyn and Alexander. Also survived by cousins Eddie, Margie and Paula Bakerian; Kirk, Betty and Reverend Joanne Gulezian and the Millian family of Drake Island, ME. Retired from Raytheon Corp., Waltham (missile defense manufacturing). Graduate of Phil Saltman School of Music, Boston; singer and music expert. Veteran WWII, U.S. Army (sharp shooter) having served in the European Theater, Italy, France and North Africa. Upon his return, Alex sang Andy Williams style love songs to the injured military and medical crews aboard the hospital ship. In addition, Alex sang at the Moulin Rouge in Paris, France and he performed for many Boston charities and religious organizations. Alex's family extends a special thank you to Dr. Jacalyn Rosenblatt and her colleagues in the Oncology Department as well as all the nurses at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Boston for the extraordinary care and love that was provided over the last three years. Interment at the V.A. National Cemetery in Bourne (Cape Cod) MA. Arrangements by the Aram Bedrosian Funeral Home, WATERTOWN.

Dear Diane, my heart is with you. I lost my Joe three years ago after a three year battle with lung cancer. We thought of you and Alex many times over the years. God Bless and treasure your memories.
