ALICE MCRAE Obituary

McRAE, Alice M. (Behenna) Age 93, of Hingham, formerly of Jupiter, FL, Hull and Stoneham, died peacefully, Sunday, November 24, 2013, at the Bridges by Epoch in Hingham, surrounded by her loving family. Alice was born in Somerville, raised and educated in Somerville schools and was a graduate of Saint Josephs High School. She was resident of Jupiter, Florida from 1985 through 2009 when she returned to Hull where she had previously lived for twenty-five years. She had also lived in Stoneham for twenty-five years. Alice was employed for twenty years in the floral department at the former Bradlees store in Hingham and has been retired many years. She was a World War II veteran having served as a sergeant in the U.S. Army. Alice enjoyed golfing and was devoted to her family. Beloved wife of the late James A. McRae, Sr. Devoted mother of James A. McRae, Jr. and his wife Suzanne of Westwood, Robert D. McRae of Hull, Kenneth E. McRae and his wife Linda of Norwood, Phillip D. McRae and his wife Kimberly of Lynnfield, Tricia A. McRae of Hull and the late Lorraine L. McRae. Loving grandmother of Keri, Shane and Ashley. One of thirteen siblings, she is survived by Robert Behenna of Plymouth, Peter Behenna of Desert Hot Springs, CA and Brother Eugene Behenna, C.F.X. of Middletown, CT. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Funeral from the Sweeney Brothers Home for Funerals, 1 Independence Avenue, QUINCY, Wednesday, Nov. 27th at 10:30 a.m. Funeral Mass in Saint John the Baptist Church, 44 School Street, Quincy at 11:30 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting Hours at the funeral home Tuesday 4-7 p.m. Interment with Military Honors at the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne. In lieu of flowers, donations in Alices memory may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 480 Pleasant St., Watertown, MA 02472.
