I took lessons with Mr. Levy during my time as a student at Harvard and have such fond memories. I always arrived feeling guilty for not having practiced enough, yet his warm and good-humored presence would immediately put me at ease. He instilled in me a love of the Bach sonatas that I will carry with me for life.

Dear Brenda, I have just learned of your husband's passing, in September. I remember Amnon as a wonderful violinist and a very warm and giving person as I often joined the Boston Pops as an extra player.
May your lifetime of memories be a blessing to you.
All the best,

Dear Mrs. Levy,
I studied privately with Amnon for several years in the mid-'90s. I remember him fondly and still take to heart his advice about how to practice. I wish you and your family all the best.

Dear Bonnie! Many silent greetings from Wilhelmshaven/Germany from Traugott and his family to the sudden death of your beloved husband Amnon. Unfortunately, we have never been able to get to know him, but we have heard a lot of good news from him. May he rest in peace surrounded by beautiful music. (traugott.boehlke(at)gmx.de)

Remembering Amnon Levy
I started working for the Boston Symphony Inc. in the summer of 1989 at Tanglewood as part of a lab orchestra for the Fellowship Conducting Seminars. Amnon was a frequent observer of those classes in the living room of the Kousseviztky House (Seranak); that's how we first met. As our after-class encounters increased, our musical collaborations grew, culminating with a live radio session at WGBH with his wife Brenda Levy on flute and the formation of the Philbrick Trio under the auspices of the BSO Educational Outreach Program.
If that summer job was how I got my foot in the door with the BSO, I think I would have to acknowledge that Amnon was the first BSO member to help get more of the rest of me through that door.
Among other things, I also have to credit Amnon for publicly premiering a violin/piano transcription of mine (Glinka: Kamarinskaya).
His hospitality, which was also extended to my wife and daughter, will be missed both in Brookline and in Lenox. Memories of sleeping at his Berkshire cabin are swarming in now, as are all those post-concert meals dining at Chef Chang's.
Though saddened in hindsight, I feel privileged to have been among the select few that witnessed his final public performance just a year ago.
Thank you, Amnon.
Ah-lahv hashalom.

Dear Bonnie and Sam. The loss of our wonderful Amnon causes more sadness than one can manage. I am sure you will miss him terribly. But how fortunate we were to have had him in our lives. We miss him so much especially on the day of his birth. A unique man. A gift to all who knew him. Jay and Barbara

Bon, When you and Amnon played together on Sunday afternoons in Cazenove (our Wellesley dorm) it was SO romantic! And over fifty-plus years of friendship, he was the same gentle, curious, knowledgeable and warm presence in our lives. It felt so special, at Symphony, to knock on the door to the players' section during intermission and ask if Amnon was available. He always was, and made us feel most welcome. He brought such beauty and kindness into the world. I will miss him a lot.
With love and condolences to you, Sam and Karen,
