Dear Liz, Jillian and Shira, Matthew just showed me Andy's obit. You have our sincere condolences. One of my fondest memories of old is when the older sisters were in tournament play and the two younger sibs were keeping the luck going with their trolls. Those trolls didn't miss a game. Our thoughts are with you and your family. Best, JoAnn & Roy Papalia

Dear Liz, Peter Cotton sent me the sad news. So sorry for your huge loss. I always looked up to Andy and that he had a Martin Mahogany guitar at a Nefty camp when I was about 14 left an indelible image in my mind and probably was responsible for my career! I was also happy that you 2 were partners in life-May his memory be a blessing

Andy was one of my close friends when I was in grammar school. Sadly, after I went away to a boarding school, I lost contact with most of my Worcester friends. I knew of Andy`s accomplishments teaching at Brandeis but I had no idea all his work in social inequities. So very impressive
My best wishes to his wife Lizzie whom I remember and the rest of his family.
Such a terrific guy

Oh my, Lizzie. Margie Rime just sent me Andy´s obit. There was never an open delightful hood natured energetic character like Andy. Always a smile. Always in movement. It is hard to believe that Parkinson´s attacked such a lovable and loving soul. I wish you and the family the best going forward. I can just imagine how hard that seems. I know he is so close and with you all... he is that kind of guy. Hugs to all.

Andy, you were the primary reason I chose to get my PhD at the Heller School, and not somewhere else. I loved taking your classes and being your TA. I am glad to hear that you had a loving group of family and friends to support you through your life, and in the last years as you struggled with your disease. May you have peace wherever you are, and if you can, please continue to help us here on this Earth. I will remember you with fondness. Diana Marginean (formerly Schor)

I was fortunate enough to get to know and admire Andy from the Heller School. He was a true mensch, and he made extraordinary impacts on so many, including guiding me and a senior colleague as we launched the Heller MPP Program. May his memory be a blessing.

I had the privilege of meeting Andy when we both served on the YouthBuild USA board of directors. I will always remember Andy's clear headed and thoughtful insights, his empathetic nature and his quick wit. My deepest condolences to the family. Andy was a treasure.
