Dear Kessler family, Andy was my councilor at Camp Cedar 1982. I found a small photo book and searched Andy and was saddened by his loss. He was a passionate photographer and good hearted councilor and friend and mentor to a 15 year old from Puerto Rico all the way in Maine. Camp Cedar is a special place for anyone who attended and grateful for having a mentor such as Andy. I grew up to be a person Andy would be proud of. I do remember his black and white photos being spectacular. I am including 2 photos, One I took of Andy and one he took of our bunk. I know it has been a few years and do not know if anyone will see this. Again he really positively influenced my life and thankful I knew him.
Sincerely,
Tracy Coifman

I count myself lucky to have known, worked with, worked for, learned from & laughed with Andrew. His best business advice was be early & keep them happy, happy happy! I'll miss you Andy. Your big smile & hearty laugh especially. Thank you for everything you gave me. You were one of the most generous & genuine people I've ever met. I'll remember you always!

I was a camper at Cedar and while it has been 35 years since my first week as a camper, I will never forget that he was the first person to talk to me when I was diagnosed with chicken pox my second night of camp. I was only 8 years old, and he knew just what to say to help my tears go away....miss you, buddy!! P.O.W

Andy personified goodness.
Plain and simple.
He was inquisitive, joyful, always inclusive, so caring and loved getting to know people for who they truly were, deep down. His engaging smile made people feel special and anyone who had Andy as a friend, intuitively understood how lucky they were. My heart hurts thinking about an Andy-less world for Betsy, Kess, Jackson, SusieQ, Gary, BetteAnn and all the family.. He will always be greatly missed but without a doubt, we will all hold Andy close in our hearts forever. xo

Dear Kessler family, I send my heartfelt condolences as you try to come to grips with this tragic loss. Andy was a GREAT GUY.. and that's a complement coming from a Camp Takajo guy!!I first met Andy when he approached me about taking the photos of our campers during the summer. That was over 20 years ago. Back then, Andy came and took the photos..He had it down to a science .His personality was so upbeat and infectious that all the campers smilied before he told them to..Andy was always generous. After my children were born , Andy always had one of his photographers take family portraits after the campers had their pictures taken. I have always appreciated that act of kindness and cherish having this annual family photo shoot in our camp uniforms ..It's hard to comprehend a senseless loss. I know the family is suffering but please know your son, brother , husband and Father was loved and respected by so many that you have never heard of..I hope that you will all provide the strength to help each other through this challenging time. May Andy's life be a blessing Sincerely,Jeff Konigsberg Owner, Camp Takajo

I am overwhelmed by grief and am shattered for Betsy, Jackson, Kess, the entire Kessler family, and anyone who had the privilege of calling Andy a friend. Losing Andy is completely devastating. He had a goodness about him that was indescribable... there was no room for judgment in his heart and he could always find the positive in any person or situation... his smile lit up a room and was infectious.... he knew how to make anyone feel special and important and loved. While I can not imagine a world without him, I will forever be grateful for his presence in my life.

Andy was the most thoughtful kindhearted caring person , always concerned about others. His smile said it all, he did not need to speak the words. He will be missed by more than probably he could even image..
