ANNA MCGOVERN

McGOVERN, Anna Age 94, of Eastham and Brewster, MA, died peacefully on March 8th at Cape Cod Hospital.

Raised in Weymouth, MA,, Anna graduated from Bridgewater State College Summa Cum Laude and was a member of Pi Lambda Theta, the national honor society for educators. Anna taught fourth grade in Weymouth, leaving the profession to raise her family of six children.

Anna's love of teaching never left her as she shared her love of music with her children and others. She was a trustee at the Danforth Museum of Art in Framingham, MA, a lifelong Celtics fan, and with her intellect and sense of fun, the creator of lovely times for the people around her.

She was the beloved wife of 60 years to the late John McGovern and sister of the late George and Mary Gloster. Anna leaves five children, Paul, Michael, Katherine, John and Stephen, six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Her son George predeceased her. Also dear to her are her niece Eileen Gloster and nephews Danny Gloster and Patrick Hernandez.

On Wednesday, March 24th, at 9 AM, there will be a Gathering at Nickerson's Funeral Home, 77 Eldridge Park Way, ORLEANS, MA, followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Joan of Arc Church, 61 Canal Road, Orleans, MA at 10 AM.
