Gentle, sweet Annie would often come to the Day Center just to sit quietly and do her knitting. With her ready smile and kind words, she was a welcoming, steadying presence for those whose lives were in tatters. She was a generous soul. On my bed I still have the lovely blue coverlet she knitted for me, a priceless gift for which she would not take a dime. I'm grateful to God to have known her, and looking forward to that day when we will meet again in the Light.

Annie, my first friend in a faraway and unfamiliar place that I've now called home for more than twenty years. I'll walk this earth trying to live up to your beautiful kindness, joy, love, and appreciation for the life we have.

Annie, while I never saw your wings, they were no doubt there all the time - humbly hidden behind your unequaled smile, and your disposition toward joy and acceptance. Thank you for blanketing me (litterally with that amazing hand made blanket - and figuratively) with your care and kindness. I am a better human for having known you. Rest in power and peace until we high five again one day.
