Annette Cook Obituary

Cook, Annette Leslie (Seifert)

Annette Leslie (Seifert) Cook, 48, of Malibu, California died Saturday, December 29, 2012, after a courageous battle with cancer. She married Stanley William Cook on Saturday, September 27, 1997, in Los Angeles, California and was the mother of three sons, Grayson William (14), Chase Clayton (13) and Preston Thomas (8).

Annette was born in Sheboygan, Wisconsin on April 2, 1964, to Lester and Bonney (Thomas) Seifert. She was first runner-up to Miss Teen Wisconsin in 1981 and graduated from Kiel High School, Kiel, Wisconsin in 1982. She attended both the University of Wisconsin - Madison, where she was a member of the Gamma Phi Beta Sorority, as well as Southern California College of Optometry, Fullerton.

In 1994, Annette founded Barefoot Dreams, a manufacturer of luxurious blankets and loungewear. Shortly after launching Barefoot Dreams, she met and married Stan, the love of her life. Together, the two continued to grow and develop the company in Malibu. The joys of her life were her husband and their three sons. They provided her with constant love and inspiration. Barefoot Dreams allowed her to achieve her dream of being able to stay home with her children and teach them the importance of a strong work ethic and the sense of family as the priority.

Annette is survived by her husband, Stan and three sons, Grayson, Chase and Preston, all of Malibu. She is further survived by a brother, Michael Seifert and his wife, Laurie of Madison, Wisconsin; a sister, Pamela Seifert Twohig of Mequon, Wisconsin; a brother, Thomas Seifert and his wife, Karen of Scottsdale, Arizona; a brother, David Seifert and his wife, Sandra of Sheboygan, Wisconsin; and a sister, Jane Seifert Curley and her husband, Michael of Cape Cod, Massachusetts; her mother-in-law, Carolyn Copes of Burbank, California; a brother-in-law, Steven C. Cook and his wife, Ivy of Glendale, California; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many wonderful friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lester and Bonney Seifert; her father-in-law, Clayton R. Cook; and her stepfather-in-law, Wilson B. Copes.

A memorial service will be held for Annette on Sunday, January 27, 2013, at Malibu Jewish Center, 24855 Pacific Coast Highway, Malibu, California at 1 p.m.

Annette and I were such close friends for many years before she met Stan. I remember her wedding day...that morning she came to my house and we had our starbucks and I did her make up..She was so calm and happy for she had truly met the love her life. We lost contact over the years but I adored her...admired her for all she did..and bless and send prayers to her boys and to Stan.. I will miss her forever and send my love always....Tracey { Richter } Gadson
