ANTHONY CAMARDO Obituary

CAMARDO, Anthony J. Esq. Of Cohasset, passed away peacefully on March 25, 2021 at the age of 88. The beloved husband of Faye E. Camardo to whom he was married for 59 magical years, he was the proud father of Stephen and his partner Christina Winn of Cohasset; Daniel and his wife Cheryl of Lake Forest, IL; and Susanne Swayhoover and her husband Eric of Lambertville, NJ. He leaves eight adored grandchildren: Emily Camardo of Virginia; Peter Camardo of Boston; Ryan, Will, Kellie Jean, and Ky Camardo of Lake Forest, IL; and Tiernan and Garrett Swayhoover of Lambertville, NJ. He was the special uncle of Virginia Porter of Braintree. He also leaves his brother-in-law, Robert Wright and his wife Helen of New Port Richey, FL; and his sister-in-law, Rosemary Wright of Sandwich, MA, as well as many much-loved nieces and nephews. He was the son of the late Elizabeth Camardo Grimes and a brother of the late Virginia Ferrara, Joseph Camardo, and James Camardo. Born and raised in South Boston, Tony was president of Gate of Heaven High School class of 1949 and graduated from Bentley College in 1951. After serving in the Army during the Korean War, Tony returned to graduate from Northeastern University and then earn an MBA from Northeastern and a law degree from Suffolk University. He became a member of the Massachusetts Bar in 1978. Treasurer and legal counsel for Harold Cabot Advertising in Boston for 18 years before becoming CEO of Wurlitzer Music Company, he was an entrepreneur involved in a variety of businesses including real estate, retail stores, ice-cream shops, and a travel agency. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may make a donation to St. Mary of the Assumption Parish, PO Box 565, Hull, MA 02045; or Scituate Etrusco Assoc., 1 Common St., Scituate, MA 02066. In compliance with Covid-19 restrictions, services were private and a gathering in celebration of Tony's life will be held at a later date.
