DiFONZO, Anthony J., Sr. Of Dedham, died peacefully at home surrounded by his family July 26, 2017. Beloved husband of the late Arlene T. (Keane) DiFonzo. Loving son of the late Frank, Sr. and Catherine (Cavicchio) DiFonzo of Somerville. Brother to Frank DiFonzo, Jr. of Somerville, the late Joseph P. DiFonzo of NY, and Ann DiFonzo of SC. Loving father of four children, Dina Pyne of Dedham, Anthony DiFonzo, Jr. of Oxford, Debra DiFonzo of Dedham, and Joseph DiFonzo of Hyannis. Grandfather of Katherine Woodbury, Adam DiFonzo, Andrew DiFonzo and Christopher DiFonzo. Great-Grandfather of Thomas Woodbury, Johnathan Woodbury, Anthony DiFonzo, Hayley Woodbury, Aydin DiFonzo, and Kairi DiFonzo. Anthony was in the United States Army Corp of Engineers in Korea and awarded the Medal of Honor for Meritorious Service. He had a successful business as a builder/contractor and President of A.J. DiFonzo, Inc. of Dedham. Anthony was an avid skeet shooter and an active member of the Old Colony Gun Sportsmen's Assoc., Pembroke for many years. Funeral from the George F. Doherty & Sons Wilson-Cannon Funeral Home, 456 High St., DEDHAM, Monday, July 31 at 9 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Denis Church, 157 Washington St., Westwood at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends kindly invited. Visiting hours at the funeral home Sunday, July 30 from 4-8 p.m. Interment in Knollwood Memorial Park, Canton. May his memory be eternal.
