ANTHONY LAEZZA Obituary

LAEZZA, Anthony T. Entered into rest January 29, 2019, he was born on March 30, 1924, to the late Carmine and Josephine (Ragazza) Laezza. Lifelong resident North End Boston, MA. Attended Michelangelo School, North End, followed by Boston Trade School. Employed at the Boston Naval Shipyard as an Electrician from July 15, 1942 - March 26, 1944. Served in the United States Army Battery A 665th March 27, 1944 - May 6, 1946. Fought in the Battle of the Rhineland World War II, Germany, as a Gun Crewman Medium Artillery. Sang for the troops under the name of "Tony Carter." Awarded the European African Middle Eastern Theater Campaign Ribbon, American Theater Campaign Ribbon, and Victory Medal. While on Furlough, moved to San Luis Obispo, CA, and sang with big bands in Hollywood. Attended Berklee College of Music in 1946. As a trained singer, performed at Stubins Vienna Room in Boston, and throughout the New England area. Lifelong career at the Veterans Administration Hospital, Boston, MA. Served as Chief of Publications and Records Unit. Survived by his son, Dennis Conroy and daughter, Karen Radomski. Also survived by his loving sister, Dolores Andreotti and her husband Joseph, their three children, Rocco, Carole, and Paul, and several great-nieces and great-nephew. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Leonard's Church, 320 Hanover St., Boston, on Monday, February. 4th, at 10:00 AM. Visiting Hours will be held at the Waterman Langone Funeral Home, 580 Commercial St., BOSTON, on Monday, February 4th, from 8-9:30 AM. Relatives and friends are invited.
