GRIMES, Arthur James III Of Ipswich, Arthur "James" Grimes, III, 75, of Topsfield, former Town Moderator and longtime resident of Ipswich, died January 12, 2023 at the Masconomet Healthcare Center in Topsfield. James is survived by his daughter, Jennifer Quigley and her husband Mike of Stoneham; his son, Josiah Grimes and his wife Cori of Topsfield; and four grandsons, Michael Quigley, William Quigley, Joey Grimes and Benjamin Grimes. He is also survived by his sister Shelia Bodwell; his brother, David Grimes and his wife Sharon, of Ipswich; many nieces and nephews; and his former wife, Linda (George) Grimes of Ipswich. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by two brothers, Stephen Grimes and Christopher Grimes; brother-in-law Robert G. Bodwell; and sister-in-law, Cheryl Grimes. His Funeral will be held 8 am Friday, January 20 from the Whittier- Porter Funeral Home, 6 High Street, IPSWICH, followed by the celebration of a Funeral Mass of Christian Burial at 9 am in Our Lady of Hope Church, 1 Pineswamp Road, Ipswich. Family and friends are respectfully welcomed. Visiting Hours will be held Thursday from 4 to 7 pm. Interment will be in the New Highland Cemetery.
