BERNARD SURETTE Obituary

SURETTE, Bernard "Bernie" Of Lynn, passed away on August 21, 2021 at the age of 62. Born in Boston on June 25, 1959 to Gloria (Crowley) and the late Paul R. Surette. Devoted father of Paul Surette of Lynn, Michael Surette of Lynn, Joel Surette of Brooklyn, NY, and Jenae Surette of Lynn. Dear brother of Alan Surette of Dedham and Pamela Gaeta and her late husband Jack of OR. Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. Bernard was known for his roles as the President of a large multigenerational family lobster wholesaling enterprise, as well as for his many years as a minister, reaching thousands from pulpits across the country. "Bernie,",as he was called by friends, had many hobbies and passions; he was an expert skier (snow and water!) and loved any toy with a motor attached. Bernard loved God and his family most of all.

You were always a good friend Bernie. So many good memories, 12 steps, Z-28, meetings all over Mass and you taught me how to ski. You always had a smile on your face and you were quick to laugh. One time we were driving to No. Conway skiing 1979 and I threw my paper bag out the window and you talked to me about polluting and I stopped that behavior on the spot and thought my children to leave any space better than when we got there. See, you did help and make a difference. Rest in peace Brother.

I am heartbroken to hear of Bernie's passing. Very good memories from Tyrol and family fun in North Reading. You were taken too young.
