BSR influenced so many lives as the Abington High School librarian. I was one of the students who flourished under her interest and influence. Our friendship went beyond the school walls. We had stayed in touch on and off for over 34 years after high school. I will miss her wit and her unique perspective on life. I'm sure I'm just one of many with a volume or two of fond memories of a great friend an mentor

Dear Reardon Family, et al:
I have so many childhood memories of our families. When I was in elementary school, Betty (still "Mrs. Reardon" to me) introduced me to a family tradition called "adventures". Now, I can't quite remember what the actual "rules" were, but it evolved into an annual event where we play hooky and take a fun day trip. 40 years later, I still do take that annual adventure!
I think about our mom's sitting at the table on Main Street, or Forest Street, drinking coffee and chatting for hours. That was in the day that people just stopped by and it didn't even occur to them to knock. That was family!
Betty was Mom's best friend and the only person I ever knew that excelled in the sport of conversation with Ted Love. As always, for many, many reasons, I hold her close in my heart.
Thinking of you all,
Barbara "Annie" Love-Villiers

Betty had a special place in the hearts of those with whom she spent time at Abington High School.

It is with true sadness that we read of Betty's passing but it also reminded us of all the good times we had together with John and Betty during our young year in High school and before.
Our prayers are with her and all her family at this time of sorrow.
God Bless
