ORYSHAK, Birute (Puzinas) Of Delray Beach, FL, formerly of Medford, August 23. She was 95 years old. Affectionately known as Bertha, she was born on April 30,1920 in Birzai, Lithuania. Cherished daughter of the late Army Captain Statsin and Stefania (Monstowtch) Puzinas. Devoted mother of Marguerite Levakis of Delray Beach, FL, Helen Lulasky of Conway, NH, Bridget Oryshak of Margate, FL, John Kaptcianos and his wife Joyce of Peabody, and the late Mary Kaptcianos. Beloved grandmother of Maryann, Geoffrey, Jessica, Jonathan, and Matthew. She also leaves 4 great grandchildren. Dear sister of Danute of Switzerland and the late Vitautas and Grazinai, both of Austria. Bertha immigrated to South Boston in 1952 and became a U.S. citizen in 1961. A long time Medford resident, she worked at the New England Memorial Hospital in Stoneham for 25 years. Bertha enjoyed gardening, animals, music (particularly concert violinist Andre Rieu) and was very passionate about embroidery. She will fondly be remembered baking blueberry pies, feeding the birds and singing German and Lithuanian melodies. Relatives and friends may visit with the family at the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., MEDFORD, Wednesday, September 2nd from 9:30 to 10:30 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Raphael Church, 512 High St., Medford at 11 AM. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Bertha's name to the Massachusetts Audubon Society (www.massaudubon.org).
