BLAKE ERICSSON Obituary

ERICSSON, Blake Lennart Blake Lennart Ericsson, age 35, passed away unexpectedly Monday, May 1, 2018. Blake worked in the service industry for close to 20 years and his focus wasn`t just on the food he served, it was also making sure his guests were happy. Blake was a talented artist who chose to focus his creative energy creating a dining experience his guests would never forget or making a special event flawless. Blake always selflessly gave to anyone in need – anything from just a smile to giving the shirt off his back. As a young child he gave his time to an older, widow who lived down the street by visiting daily to just talk and keep her company for a while. Once, as an adult he literally gave the shirt and jacket off his back to a homeless man while out for a walk with his wife. Blake gave with no expectation of getting something in return and he continued to give as an organ donor. On May 1st, Blake gave his heart to a young man in his 20`s, his liver to a man in his 40`s, one kidney to a little girl, the other kidney and pancreas to a woman in her 50`s and his corneas will give sight to two people. These acts of giving speak volumes to who he was as a person. He leaves behind his wife, Vera (Prikolota) Ericsson of 7 years; a 5 year old son, Andre Ericsson; mother, Paula (Hicks) Spofford; stepfather, James Spofford; father, Steven Ericsson; sister, Britt Giannuzzi and her husband, Joe Giannuzzi; maternal Grandmother, Sharon Hicks; Uncles, Aunts and Cousins. A Celebration of Blake`s Life will be held on May 19, 2018 from 1:00 PM through 4:00 PM at The University of Massachusetts Club, One Beacon Street, 32nd Floor, Boston, MA 02108. Please omit flowers. Memorial Contributions may be made to Vera Ericsson, c/o Paula Spofford, PO Box 308, Conway, NH 03818. These contributions will be deposited into a college fund for Andre Ericsson, Blake & Vera`s son.

The loss of a loved one is painful and it will be hard at times trying to express to others how you really feel. Those who love you understand and will be by you to help you through this most difficult time. (Proverbs 17:17)

Blake you will be sorely missed. You were my server at the UMASS club on several occasions and I always enjoyed your company. Your selfless act of donating your organs to others will not go unnoticed. Both my parents were lucky enough to receive organ transplants in the past. I can speak from experience when I say we are truly grateful for your donations. Brendan Mitchell
