BONNIE JEANNE RUSH

RUSH, Bonnie Jeanne Age 77, passed peacefully on October 30, 2025, at Southeast Rehabilitation in North Eastern, MA. She was born in Springfield, Ohio, to Ford Edward Rush, Jr. and Barbara Jean Rush. She is survived by her sister, Barbara J. Rose and Joseph Rose of Taunton, MA; a nephew, Joshua Rose and his wife, Kamala, Deerfield, MA; one niece, Brandy J. Gullens, of Taunton, MA; and her Godchild, Tabitha Gullens of North Eastern, MA. As a high school graduate, Bonnie's career was horses. When she was a teenager, she owned and trained Quarter Horses, winning many competitions in Barrel Racing, Trail Riding, and Western Pleasure. She was an avid Four H member, a member of Rough Riders. At age nine, she began going to Foxboro Raceway to meet and hang with the horses. She began as a groom and as time went by became an owner, trainer, breeder, and a Harness Driver of Standardbred horses. Her racing career began at Pocono Downs in 1970. She traveled the North American continent extensively. During her traveling with horses, she worked for Bing Crosby's stables, had the opportunity to rescue mustangs in the west, as well as become trainer and outrider with Thoroughbred flat racers in Florida. Upon her return to Massachusetts, She worked and lived at Idyll River Farm with her partner, Paul Magan. Together, they bred, trained and raced their own horses, as well as the Idyll River horses. She was an experienced horse woman who always leant a hand to others in the business. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend Calling Hours on Wednesday, November 19, 2025, from 4-6 PM, at the Roberts and Sons Funeral Home, 30 South Street, in FOXBOROUGH. A Memorial Service will be held at 6 PM, at the conclusion of Calling Hours at the funeral home.
