Brent made me laugh like no one else... He had a unique way of seeing the world and was joyful but affectionately tempered with irony and compassion. So sad to see his passing. He will be sorely missed by all that know him.

I just heard this news now, over a year after the fact but wanted to share with you how much I enjoyed working with Brent while I was at DB. He was such a calm and knowledgeable person and was a joy to work with.

God Bless your family in this time of mourning. Brent was a great colleague to work with and learn from even though our communications were from afar. He was so calming, considerate, diligent and experienced in his field. I enjoyed the occasional meetings in person in Boston, at clients, at DB Golf events and in NY. We will miss him and always pray for him and your family.

I worked with Brent at two different companies in my career and think I can speak for many when I say that the 1031 Exchange industry has lost one of the best minds out there. Elizabeth, we have never met, but I will never forget how, while on business trips, he had to stop at the gift shop to bring gifts home for you and your children. May you all always feel that loved. I send you thoughts of strength and peace.

Lisle and Henry:

I am very sad to hear of your unexpected loss. I will always remember your dad cheering you on from the stands at diving practices and meets, and I am very grateful that I had a chance to meet him and see the happiness he brought to those around him.

My thoughts and prayers are with you and your mom,

Elizabeth: Shock and grief. We met and had dinner when Brent came to work at LandAmerica 1031. Dear Lisle and Henry were always held in high regard and fondly remembered by my daughter who had the pleasure of babysitting them the night we all went out.
My sincerest condolences for your insufferable loss. May God's mercy and love sustain you and your family through the difficult days ahead.

Loving regards

I don't think I've had the pleasure of meeting Brent in person, but either way, we had spoken rather frequently at work. No matter the situation, Brent always knew what to say and do. I honestly can't imagine what it's going to be like not being able to lean on him or hear his calming tone. "Well ya know, we could complain, but it won't change anything, so I'm hanging in there." Rest in peace friend. My condolences to the family and friends who were so dear to him.
