McLAUGHLIN, Brian J. Of West Harwich, formerly of Dorchester, passed away peacefully, on December 25, 2024, surrounded by his family. Beloved husband of Debby (Smith) McLaughlin. Loving father of Brian P. McLaughlin and his wife, Maureen of Dorchester and Emily Sanchez and her husband, Juan of Dorchester. Cherished "Pa" of Billy, Bridget, Desmond, Penelope and Lucy. Caring brother of Maura Lapping and her husband, Rob, Sheila Ware and her husband, Michael, Kevin McLaughlin and his wife, Linda, Brendan McLaughlin and his wife, Mary and the late Paul McLaughlin and his surviving wife, Barbara. Also survived by many loving nieces, nephews and dear friends. Brian was a dedicated Boston school teacher for 37 years and a proud long-time bartender at the Eire Pub. Visiting hours in the John J. O'Connor & Son Funeral Home, 740 Adams St. (Adams Village), DORCHESTER, Sunday, from 2-6 pm. Funeral Mass in St. Brendan's Church on Monday morning at 10 am. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in memory of Brian to Friends of Saint Brendan (friendsofsaintbrendan.org) or to St. Brendan's School, 29 Rita Rd., Dorchester, MA 02124. To the McLaughlin Family,
I am so sorry to hear of Brian´s passing.
our families grew up together in Dorchester and there are so many wonderful memories of that beautiful neighborhood. I spent many days in the McLaughlin house with my dear friend, Maura.
Emily was a student teacher in my Kindergarten classroom and Brian came in to read to the kids. It was a special day!

I have many wonderful memories of Brian as I grew up in Dorchester and went to school with Maura. We are so very sorry for your loss. He was a great guy and thinking of him makes me smile. The last time I saw him was in the Eire Pub. We are thinking of you all and send our sympathy and love.

I am so saddened and shocked to read of Brian's passing. He was a wonderful and lifelong friend. Sheila and I so enjoyed spending time with Brian and you all at McLaughlin Family weddings. Especially coming so soon after Paul's passing, the shock to your family is even greater. Brian and Paul are in my prayers, as are your Mom and Dad.
