CARL "HERB" EMILSON

1929 - 2024

EMILSON, Carl "Herb" Age 94, of North Marshfield, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 22, 2024. Born in Quincy on January 24, 1929, he was the son of the late Carl Evert Emilson and Ruth (Lawson) Emilson.  Raised and educated in Quincy, Herb formerly lived in Weymouth and Cohasset. He was a graduate of Boston College, graduating Magna Cum Laude, with his Bachelor's in Business and Finance. Herb met the love of his life, Paulie, in 1946 and the two married in 1950. Philanthropy was his lifestyle. He enjoyed biking, skiing, and playing tennis. Herb enjoyed boating, fishing, and traveling. He also loved to laugh and sing. Above all else, he loved God and his family.  Herb was the loving husband of the late Pauline V. (Gordon) Emilson. Father of Karen Emilson McArdle and her husband Douglas of Marshfield, Carl Emilson of Florida, the late Laura Reikert of Marshfield, and David Emilson and his wife Lynda of Florida. Grandfather of Zachary Emilson, Joshua Emilson and his wife Savannah, Kristen Gray and her husband Ryan, Matthew McArdle and his wife Nicole, and Jeffrey McArdle. Great-grandfather of Aiden and Stella Emilson, Will Gray, Heather McArdle, and Ethan and Ryan McArdle. Visiting Hours will be held on Monday, January 29th, from 4:00PM-7:00PM at Sullivan Funeral Homes, 551 Washington St., HANOVER, MA 02339. A Funeral Home Service will be held on Tuesday, January 30th, at 10:00 AM. Burial will immediately follow at Couch Cemetery in North Marshfield.
