Carol Cundiff Obituary

CUNDIFF, Carol Ann Semonian Age 71, died at her home in Sarasota, Fla. on Monday, April 4th, 2011. Born July 29th, 1939 to James and Marian Semonian, she was raised in Charlestown, Mass. and graduated from Charlestown High School in 1957. The first member of her family to go to college, she earned a Bachelor's degree from Salem State in 1961. Carol's sense of adventure led her to teach in Germany where she traveled extensively.She continued her journeys when she married David Cundiff in 1965 at Sacred Heart Church in Lexington, Mass. As a military wife, she toured the country and Europe before settling back in Lexington to care for her mother. Carol longed for warm weather and sunshine and moved to Sarasota, Fla. in 1994. The beautiful beaches and pristine sand of the Sarasota Keys were her paradise. Carol is survived by her children, Stacey Coursey of Carrollton, TX, Dr. Jason Cundiff, M.D. of Yakima, WA, Dr. Paige Cundiff, Ph.D. of New York City, NY, and granddaughter Hannah. Services will be held at 12:00 p.m., Friday, May 6th, at Westview Cemetery, 520 Bedford Street, Lexington, Mass. Relatives and friends are welcome at the service and the reception at Café Escadrille, 26 Cambridge Street, Burlington, Mass., immediately following from 1-4 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions should be mailed to Tidewell Hospice, 1751 Mound Street, Sarasota, Florida, 34236. She will be missed dearly.
