CATHERINE FRANOVICH Obituary

FRANOVICH, Catherine January 8, 1948 - December 9. 2017 Catherine 'Cathe' Franovich age 69 (formerly Cathe Gasper) of Somerville, MA, passed suddenly in Bonita Springs, Florida while recovering from a recent illness. Cathe grew up in Somerville and Cambridge and graduated from Ringe & Latin HS. Cathe retired after many fulfilling years with Varian Vacuum Technologies in Lexington, MA in 2009. Cathe was preceded in death by her parents Gerald and Mary Gasper. Cathe is survived by her son, Edward Colangelo of Upton, MA, grandson Brett Colangelo of Woonsocket, RI. Beloved sisters Mary Ann Budra and her husband Ronald of Bonita Springs, FL, Margaret Gomes of Warwick, RI and her loving brother Gerald Gasper and his wife Maryanne of Charleston, SC. Nieces and nephews, Christine Frederic, Robin Thomas, Jason Gomes, Michael Gasper, Jessica Corndell, Matthew Gasper and David Gasper. Many close cousins and beloved Aunt Geraldine Bourke of Reading, MA. Cathe enjoyed her retirement thoroughly, keeping up with her shows, crime novels and especially loved spending time with her family, cousins luncheons and best friend Helen Bozzi and her family in Medford, MA. Visiting Hours: Remembrance services to be announced at a later date.

R.I.P. Cathy. I'm sorry you had to suffer with your illness. I babysat you as a child and have many fond memories of our lives together. You will be missed at our cousins dinners. We always loved you and will never forget you. My condolences to Edward, Maryann, Margaret, and Gerry.
