Being the eldest of his grandchildren, I was blessed to truly know the character of my grandfather. He was a loving, caring, compassionate and trustworthy man. And I want nothing more than to call him tonight and ask for his advice, his wisdom, and his knowledge of life and god. He was the best man I ever knew. And I appreciate everyone's support of our family at this time. Rest in Peace gramps, I love you. And we miss you dearly. And although he may not be with us anymore in person, he will always be with us all in prayer.

To all of Charlie's family, friends and church community,

On behalf of Superintendent Saba and the entire administration and staff at MCI Cedar Junction I extend our deepest condolences . We are deeply saddened at Charlie's loss and profoundly thankful for the friendship and service he provided our staff and inmates at the institution. I believe the work we do for others (especially in the name of God) is what will ultimately last and is the most solid testament and memorial to a human life. Charlie is remembered in the hearts of the men he touched and the service he provided for others. For that, He lives as a giant in the Kingdom. We will certainly miss him.
Sincerely,

Kerry Keefe

I was saddened to hear about the loss of your husband...a Father, a Brother, an Uncle and a good golfer (I would like to think that I taught him a few golf tips along the way....but that would be stretching the truth a bit). Charlie, may you rest in peace...you will be missed by all.

A giant among men - who cared for every person he met. The world has lost a unique individual, but it is up to all of us to carry the legacy Charlie leaves behind.
We believe, as Charlie did, in the goodness of God and His people! Rest in peace, our dear friend!

Love,
Gail and Joe Trainor
