McAVEENEY, Charles B. Sr. 88, Of North Andover, formerly of Somerville. November 21, 2012. Beloved husband of the late Arlene (Syda). Loving father of Charles B., Jr. of Crofton, MD, Kenneth E. and his wife Jean of Westford, Joan C. McAveeney of North Andover, Carol Bellavance and her husband Paul of Andover, Elizabeth Gosselin and her husband Jerry of Salem, NH. Brother of John McAveeney of Concord, NH, Louise Valdario of Reading and the late Humphrey, Margaret, Mary, Elizabeth, Daniel, James and Paul. Dear grandfather of Paul Bellavance, Jr. and Kirby McAveeney. Also survived by many relatives, friends, nieces and nephews. Funeral procession from the George L. Doherty Funeral Home, 855 Broadway (Powder House Sq.), SOMERVILLE, Tuesday morning at 9:00 am followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Clement Church, Somerville, at 10:00 am. Relatives and friends invited. Calling hours Monday 4-8 pm. Interment St. Patrick Cemetery, Watertown. Late disabled combat veteran, US Army WWII,Purple Heart and Bronze Star Recipient and member of the Greatest Generation,. Past Commander DAV, Somerville. Donations may be made in Charles' memory to Bedford VA Medical Center, 200 Springs Rd. Bedford, MA 01730 or the charity of ones' choice.
