CHRISTOPHER DAVIS Obituary

DAVIS, Christopher Allan Age 42, of Brockton, formerly of Stoughton, Active Duty Police Officer, Stoughton Police/Special Operations, passed away suddenly, on December 31, 2022. Born July 26, 1980, the devoted son of Rosemarie "Lola" (Damata) and the late Allan S. Davis. Beloved fiancé of Renee Vargas. Loving father of Jessica Chasteen and her husband, Josh of Texas. Grandfather of Ariael Ramiel and Merlin Grant Chasteen. Cherished brother of Matthew Davis and his partner, Le Cheung of Stoughton. Dear grandson of Thelma Henry and the late Madeline and Patrick Damata. Chris is also survived by Renee's father, Luis Vargas and his late wife, Mary Ellen as well as many loving aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends. Chris was a 17-year veteran of the Stoughton Police Department, most recently assigned to Mobile Operations. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force Security Forces in Iraq. He will be remembered for his kindness, bravery, dedication, devotion to his family, friends, the men and women of the Stoughton Police and the Stoughton Community. His love and respect for others had no boundaries. Colleagues from other towns who had the privilege to work with Chris quickly realized that not only was he an incredible officer, but also a true gentleman. Despite the busy schedule of public service, Chris always found time for his family and friends. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Visiting Hours, in St. James Catholic Church, 560 Page Street, Stoughton, on Sunday, January 8, 2023, from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated, in the church, on Monday, January 9, at 10:30 a.m. Burial with Military Honors will follow at the Massachusetts National Cemetery. Like many, I was saddened and shocked to hear of Chris´ passing. This one really hurts. His laughter is one of the things I will miss most. You were a warrior my brother. May you rest in eternal peace. You will be sorely missed.

This was incredibly shocking and very saddening to be informed of Chris' sudden departure. I came to know him when he was assigned to the 102D Security Forces Squadron/JBCC, MA. I worked directly with him full time for two years, at which time that he was appointed as a Stoughton Police Officer. Not only was he an Excellent Security Policeman, but he was also a great person. He always had your back, and one that you could count on 100%. RIP my friend, you'll be missed.
