Barbara Ann Broome

Barbara Ann (Hartin) Broome, age 74, of Brockton, formerly of Dorchester and South Boston, passed away, Thursday, March 5, 2026. She was born March 20, 1951, in Boston, Massachusetts to the late John J. Hartin, Jr., and Anna E. (Jakaitis) Hartin.
Barbara was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister.
She is lovingly reunited with her husband, Joseph Lewis Broome and daughter, Michelle Ann Broome. She is survived by her children, Sean (Andrea), William (Sandra), and Andrea (Matthew) Staehnke. She leaves behind her loving and cherished grandchildren, Tyler, Kaitlyn, Zachary, Madison, and Alyssa, and great-grandchildren, Kayden, Marilyn, and Jonah.
A beloved sister, Barbara's siblings, the late John, lll., the late Richard (late Margaret), Rita (late Charles) Caputo, and Anne Marie (late Francis) Brazzo, and many nieces and nephews.
Barbara will be remembered for her kindness and gentle spirit. She was a devoted mother who dedicated her life to her family. When she wasn't spending time with her family, you could always catch her reading a book or even knitting a blanket.
Barbara will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by her children, grandchildren, and all who were fortunate enough to know her. Her life will be celebrated in a special way at a later time.
